It might have been a couple of decades since Top Gun hit cinema screens, but as Ace Combat proves it doesn’t mean that we don’t all secretly harbour dreams of shooting stuff while sitting in expensive military hardware.ĥ05 Games recognise this, by publishing the Headstrong Games-developed Top Gun Hard Lock. Kenny Loggin’s “Highway To The Danger Zone” is optional when reading this post. Who knows, maybe WarHawk will be better when it arrives? We'll see.Top Gun Hard Lock is coming soon, courtesy of 505 Games – Check out the latest screenshots and information, right here. I wanted to give the score as 3 out of 5 because like I said, many details are missing, but I feared that score would be misinterpreted so I am giving this game 4 out of 5 simply because it's a decent flight simulator/shooter. So don't worry Greenhorns, you'll do just fine!! One last thing, Top Gun 1 was much harder to learn, which makes Top Gun 2 much more user friendly which makes the game 100% more enjoyable. I think it's worth it, at least until something better comes along and so far, for the PS3, only Top Gun lives up to the hype. When over the ocean, you will shoot down planes and then sink ships, again, very cool. You can also team up with 16 other friends and kick some major ass (targets are either on the ground or in the air or both which is usually the case). I have not touched the multi-player aspect of this game as of yet but I know you can dogfight with your friends (or enemies) from all over the world and that is very cool too. It's simple, get behind your foe and shoot his (or her) ass out of the clouds! The afterburners on take off are pretty cool (although as I said earlier, many details are missing) yet visuals like that don't really have any impact on the style of play. In many ways, the skill required to play this game has decreased to the point now where anybody can play this game because as you dogfight, the computer tells you (and shows you) which button to press in order to pull off the required maneuver and finish off your foe. Yes, it is lacking some of the details you seek in a flight simulator/shooter, for instance, it doesn't even tell you what your altitude is (if you get too low, you'll hear a beeping sound) but it's still real enjoyable to play. Of the 15 levels you can play (single player game) I have only finished 6 but I feel I can leave an honest review of this game.
